Importance and location of Barcelona
Before to talk about of Barcelona by days the first thing to know is where is located the city and the importance in Catalonia and Spain. Barcelona lies on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea in northeaostern Spain and just 5 meters of sea level, the river “Besós” on the north, Collserola Mountains to the west, the river “Llobregat” to the south and near 100 kilometers to the south are the mountains of the Pyrenees and the border of France.

Ciutat Vella. It is the historic city center. It is the zone of the old Barcelona municipalities during the nineteenth and twentieth century’s. Eixample. It occupies the plateau in the eighteenth century between the old town (Ciudad Vieja) and the old independent villas; Sants, Gracia and Sant Andreu de Palomar. Its urban design is characterized by a grid of perpendicular streets in sections of 100 meters designed by the Catalan urban planner “Ildefons Cerdà” there are a lot of apartments for rent. The neighborhoods are; Sant Antoni, Eixample izquierda nueva , Eixample Izquierda Antigua (the latter two form a unit known as Eixample Left), Right Eixample, Sagrada Família and the Fort Pienc. The neighborhoods are; Sarrià, Sant Gervasi - Galvany (just Galvany) Sant Gervasi - The Bonanova (or simply The Bonanova) i Putxet Farr (better known as El Putxet), Les Tres Torres Vallvidrera - Tibidabo - Les Planes. The neighborhoods of Sant Gervasi - Galvany and Sant Gervasi - The Bonanova constitute the core of old Sant Gervasi of Cassoles.
Gràcia. Brings together the old town of Gràcia independent, and neighborhoods for Camp Grassot i Gràcia Nova, La Salut, El Coll, Vallcarca and Els Penitents (which covers two neighborhoods of the same name).
Horta-Guinardó. The neighborhoods are; Horta, The Clota, Vall d'Hebron, the Montbau, Sant Genís dels Agudells the Teixonera the Caramel Font d'en Fargas, Can Baró, the Baix Guinardó and Guinardó.
Nou Barris. Vallbona unites the districts of the Ciutat Meridiana Torre Baró, Canyelles them Roquetes, Nova Trinitat Can Peguera, the Guineueta the Verdum the Prosperitat, Turó of Peira, Porta and Vilapicina - Llobet Tower (which in actually encompasses the neighborhoods and the Tower Vilapicina Llobet).
Sant Andreu. The neighborhoods are; Sant Andreu, La Sagrera, Trinitat Vella, Baró de Viver, the Congrés and the Indians (known as the Congress), Bon Pastor and Navas.
Sant Martí. Encompasses the neighborhoods of Sant Marti Provençals, El Clot, Camp de l'Arpa Clot, the Verneda i Pau, Fort Pienc, Poblenou, Parc i Poblenou Llacuna of the Vila Olimpica del Poblenou, els of Provençals Poblenou, El Maresme i Besòs, Diagonal Mar and the Front Marítim Poblenou (which includes the neighborhood of Diagonal Mar).
